Springtime, a wonderful evening of fashion, fun and culinary delights will take place on Thursday evening, June 4th at the Westin Copley Plaza.
This year the Cardinal Cushing Centers will continue their tradition of honoring those who have demonstrated extraordinary vision and compassion for people with disabilities. The Richard Cardinal Cushing Award will be given posthumously to Leonard Florence (“Lenny”), philanthropist and lifelong friend and champion of the Cardinal Cushing Centers fondly named “Mr. Springtime” and Thomas P. O’Neill, Jr. (“Tip”), former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives. The Franciscan Leadership Award will be awarded to Leo and Paul Vercollone whose family founded VERC Enterprises, Inc. VERC Enterprises has had a long-term commitment to employing a significant number of individuals with intellectual
and developmental challenges.
Guests will enjoy a cocktail reception and silent auction followed by a seated dinner, live auction, award presentation and the evening’s main event, a fashion show featuring students and adults with disabilities as well as local celebrities.
